Château Beau-Site 2018, Saint-Estèphe Grand Cru Bourgeois

The 2018 Château Beau-Site is a powerful and well-structured Saint-Estèphe, reflecting the richness of this warm vintage while retaining the classic character and firmness of the appellation. A strong example of Grand Cru Bourgeois quality, it offers both immediate appeal and ageing potential.

The nose is deep and concentrated, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and dark plum, layered with notes of cedar, graphite and subtle spice. There is a richness to the fruit, balanced by the hallmark savoury edge of Saint-Estèphe.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with firm, well-defined tannins and a dense core of dark fruit. The balance between ripe fruit and fresh acidity gives the wine both power and precision, while carefully integrated oak adds depth without dominating.

The finish is long and persistent, with lingering notes of cassis, spice and a touch of minerality. Still youthful, this is a wine that will reward further cellaring but can also be enjoyed now with decanting.
