Description

2nd Wine of Lynch Bages
The 2002 Haut Bages Averous has black fruit on the nose, silk and elegance across the palate, quite delicious, medium ruby red, super clean.

Château Haut-Bages Averous is the name of a former Pauillac property, once purchased by André Cazes. This name has long designated the second wine of Château Lynch-Bages, the result of a determined selection for the first time during the harvest of 1976 and continued every year since then. As of the 2008 vintage, Château Haut-Bages Averous changed its name. To better assert its lineage with the estate, it became “Echo de Lynch-Bages”. Developed as an echo of the Grand Vin and enjoying the same attentive care from the vineyards to the cellars, Echo de Lynch-Bages fits seamlessly in the line with its older brother: displaying the same flavors, aromas and characteristics of Pauillac wines. It is similarly marked by its roundness and suppleness, thus requiring less storage time in the bottle.

Château Haut-Bages-Averous, nestled in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France, is recognized for its dedication to crafting exceptional red wines. With a history that dates back to the 18th century, the estate's vineyards cover approximately 30 hectares, predominantly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grapes. Benefitting from gravelly and sandy soils, Château Haut-Bages-Averous produces wines that reflect the unique terroir of Pauillac. Known for their elegance, structure, and aging potential, the estate's wines exhibit ripe fruit flavors, refined tannins, and a distinct Pauillac character. As part of the renowned Lynch-Bages family of wines, Château Haut-Bages-Averous continues to maintain its reputation for excellence. With a commitment to tradition, innovation, and sustainability, the estate remains a respected name in Bordeaux winemaking, captivating enthusiasts worldwide with its distinguished blends.
