Chianti DOC 1967 Ruffino Riserva Ducale is a historic red wine from Tuscany, Italy, produced by Ruffino, one of the most established names in Chianti production. Riserva Ducale is a traditional selection created to express a more structured and age-worthy interpretation of Chianti, typically based on Sangiovese with classic complementary varieties used in the historical blend.

The 1967 vintage reflects a traditional mid-20th-century Chianti style, defined by long aging in large oak casks and extended bottle maturation, resulting today in a fully evolved, tertiary wine profile.

Tasting Notes:
The wine shows a garnet core with brick-orange and amber reflections. The bouquet is complex and evolved, with dried cherry, red plum, and sour berry notes, followed by leather, tobacco, dried herbs, and forest floor. Subtle hints of balsamic, spice, and worn wood appear with air.

On the palate it is medium-bodied, with softened tannins and still-lively acidity. Flavors reflect dried red fruits, earthy tones, and herbal nuances. The finish is long, delicate, and gently fading.

Bottle condition is critical, as wines of this age vary significantly depending on storage history.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Serve at 16–18°C, with light decanting if needed to remove sediment.

Pairs well with roasted meats, braised dishes, game, mushroom-based recipes, and aged cheeses.
