Description

Chianti DOCG 1996 Giulio dei Medici is a mature Tuscan red wine produced in Italy under the Chianti DOCG denomination. This bottling represents a traditional Sangiovese-based expression from the mid-1990s, crafted for bottle aging and gradual development of tertiary aromas over time.

Tasting Notes:
Ruby-garnet color with brick-orange reflections. Aromas of dried cherry, red berries, violet, leather, tobacco, cedar, and earthy spice, with subtle balsamic and herbal nuances.
Medium-bodied palate with softened tannins, balanced acidity, and elegant mature character. Long, smooth finish with notes of dried fruit, spice, and forest floor.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Serve at 16–18°C, with light decanting if necessary.

Pairs well with roasted meats, Tuscan salumi, pasta with ragù, grilled dishes, mushroom recipes, pecorino cheese, and traditional Italian cuisine.

Producer:
Giulio dei Medici is associated with traditional Tuscan winemaking, producing classic Chianti wines focused on Sangiovese character, regional authenticity, and balanced aging potential.
