JUSTINO'S MADEIRA
Dating to 1870, Justino’s has been and continues to be an esteemed producer of Madeira. The winery has been located in Cancela, Santa Cruz, since 1995. They are famous for producing the Broadbent Selections. Older 20th century vintages are wonderful expressions of the noble grapes of the island.
Tasting Notes" The 1964 Justino Boal Madeira is medium mahogany with brilliant bronze/copper flashes. Complex aromas, Maple syrup, roasted pecan, dates, prunes, bergamot, ginger snap biscuits, expresso coffee, hot bitumen roads. Incredible depth in the mouth the aromas indicate sweet but the flavour impression is dry and fulsome, though with vanilla, mocha, praline, caramelised citrus, earthy brazil nuts, figs. A beautiful pithy counterbalance which is incredibly appetite inducing springs into play. The finish is almost trance inducing with minutes of flavour coating the mouth and almost never fading.
