La Spinetta Vürsù Vigneto Gallina, Barbaresco, Piedmont

A flagship single-vineyard Barbaresco from the celebrated Gallina cru in Neive, Vürsù Vigneto Gallina represents one of La Spinetta’s most refined and expressive interpretations of Nebbiolo.

    Tasting Note
The nose is precise and aromatic, offering ripe red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry, layered with rose petal, dried herbs and subtle spice. On the palate, the wine is poised and beautifully structured, with vibrant acidity carrying flavours of crimson fruit, orange peel and gentle earthy minerality. Fine, polished tannins provide shape and persistence, leading to a long, savoury and harmonious finish.

    Food Pairing
An excellent match for braised veal, roast poultry, mushroom and truffle dishes, rich pasta sauces and aged hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or Castelmagno.

    Serving & Cellaring
Serve at 16–18°C. Decant for 1 hour before drinking. Drinking well now with air, and will cellar confidently for 12–18 years.

    Why We Love It
Gallina is renowned for producing some of Barbaresco’s most elegant and aromatic wines, and La Spinetta’s Vürsù captures this with precision, finesse and depth.

"A beautiful, focused red with intensity and brilliance, showing cherry, watermelon, truffle and mushroom aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied, yet tight and refined. Long finish. Try after 2023."
