    1967 Martinez Vintage Port

    Producer:

Martinez, founded in 1790, is a traditional Port house best known for its Vintage Ports of finesse and longevity. With deep ties to the Douro Valley, Martinez has long been respected for producing Ports with elegance, balance, and classic character.

    Vintage:

The 1967 vintage is regarded as a softer, earlier-maturing year, offering charm and approachability rather than massive structure. Many wines from this harvest are now fully mature, delivering delicate complexity and a graceful drinking experience.

    Tasting Note:

Now at peak maturity, the wine shows a brick-tawny hue with a fading rim. The bouquet opens with dried fruits, figs, dates and raisins, layered with warm spices, cedar, tobacco leaf and hints of caramel. On the palate it is silky and mellow, with flavours of worn leather, roasted nuts, dried orange peel and subtle chocolate. Tannins have resolved, leaving a smooth texture and a gentle, lingering finish of warm spice and nutty sweetness.

    Serving & Pairing:

Decant carefully to remove sediment before serving. Enjoy at 16–18ºC alongside blue cheeses, nut tarts, dark chocolate desserts or simply as a contemplative glass on its own.

    Storage:

Vintage Ports should be stored lying down in a cool, dark place with stable temperature. Once opened, the wine is best consumed within 24–48 hours.
