Description

The 2016 Offley Vintage Port Wine is a floral, aromatic port bursting with juicy dark forest fruit and hints of sweet spice. The lively acidity balancing the sweetness and the flavour intensity alongside the long finish suggest this is a powerful example of a port from a fully declared and exceptional vintage.

A floral wine with violet perfumes, this wine shows the influence of Touriga Nacional. Its great fruits are balanced by tannins giving the wine a dry core. The perfumed character needs to soften out before this wine will be drinkable. Drink from 2027.

Tasting notes
The wine has a dense, almost black colour. The aromas are of ripe black fruit, spice, black pepper, clove and cigar box. On the palate it is powerful with firm, ripe tannins and a well-integrated acidity. It has a long and impressive finish where black fruit and spice flavours linger.
