Description

A 50cl bottle of 2005 vintage Colheita Port Wine from Palmer Port.

This is exclusive to Vintage Wine & Port.

This 2005 Port Wine has been stored in seasoned oak casks since the 2005 harvest until it was bottled later in life.

Tasting Notes: The 2005 Port from Palmer has a light oak colour which can develop in a deeper tawny hue over time. The nose is very elegant and features aromas of dried fruits (such as figs, raisins, and apricots). It is smooth and well-balanced, offering a delightful combination of dried fruits, honey, toffee, and subtle vanilla flavours. Has a long finish, with layers of flavour that leave a lasting impression of dried fruit and spice on the palate.

Serve slightly chilled, around 12-16°C (54-61°F) and use a Port glass or a small wine glass to concentrate the aromas and enhance the tasting experience. Pairs well with mature cheese and a selection of roasted or caramelized nuts.

Colheita Port should be stored in a cool and dry place, sheltered from light and temperature fluctuations, and the bottle should remain in an upright position. If stored correctly, Colheita Ports will keep for decades in the bottle. Over time, it is natural that a little sediment will form at the bottom of a bottle of colheita Port wine. Once opened colheita Port should be stored in a fridge and should be consumed within 3 months.
