Description

Quinta de Ervamoira Vintage Port from Ramos Pinto is produced only in exceptional years from the best plots of Quinta de Ervamoira, located in the Douro Superior. The total area of the quinta is 234 ha with 178 ha under vine and an average age of 30 years. Ervamoira lies in a rocky area on the banks of the river Côa, where the weather is hot and dry, adding density and body to the wines, resulting in full-bodied and highly concentrated wines. The altitude, ranging from between 110 to 340 metres, ensures balance and preserves freshness.

Tasting note: A complex and fruity aroma with notes of black plum perfectly combined with aromas of esteva. Spicy, with a ripe fruit well evident, accompanied by firm and elegant tannins. Long, harmonious and very expressive ending.

Founded in 1880 by brothers Adriano and Antonio, Ramos Pinto's history has been marked by a balance between innovation and respect for tradition. In addition to producing wines of exceptional quality, the House is known for its knowledge of terroir and for its pioneering viticulture. Through its strict production policy, the selection of the best Douro grape varieties and the systematic technical and technological research, the House is positioned as the reference for the production of superior quality wines in Portugal.

Reviews

92 pts Wine Enthusiast - Vineyards don't get more remote than Ervamoira, in the heart of the Côa national park of prehistoric wall drawings. It's dry here, and that's evident from the dusty tannins, firm dark black fruits, and considerable aging potential.
