Description

This is a rare 1971 wine from Germany. Beerenauslese is a term used for late harvest German wine made from the Riesling variety. These sought after rare sweet wines offer beautiful tropical pineapple, blossom and honey aromas with a balancing freshness provided by the acidity naturally present in the Riesling grapes. A beerenauslese is produced only in years with certain climatic conditions that favour the development of botrytis, a noble fungus that allows complex aromas to flourish. These rare wines are famed for their longevity and will improve for decades.

Food and Wine Pairing:
The sweetness intermingled with the fresh acidity make such wines perfect accompaniment to sweet fruity tarts or blue cheeses such as stilton or Roquefort.
