Description
Appearance:
Light garnet with a tawny-orange rim. Clear, delicate colour showing full maturity.
Nose:
Developed and expressive. Aromas of dried cherry, redcurrant, old leather, cedarwood, and dusty earth. Subtle notes of tobacco, dry herbs, and vanilla may appear with air.
Palate:
Light to medium-bodied with soft, resolved tannins and a bright thread of acidity. Flavours of dried red fruit, sandalwood, mushroom, and faint balsamic or orange peel. The structure is gentle, more about nuance than power.
Finish:
Moderate in length. Fades into savoury, earthy tones with a lingering note of dried spice and cedar.
Overall:
A gracefully aged Rioja showing soft texture, tertiary complexity, and elegant old-world charm. Best appreciated for its history and style rather than intensity.
Condition
good level and cork, bin soiled label
