Description

The 1988 Sagrantino Passito DOC by Antonelli San Marco is a traditional sweet red wine from Montefalco, made from dried Sagrantino grapes, a variety known for its deep color, intensity, and strong tannic structure even in sweet styles.

Tasting Notes: Now fully mature, it likely shows rich aromas of dried black cherry, plum, fig, and raisin, layered with notes of cocoa, sweet spice, leather, and earthy undertones. On the palate it is expected to be concentrated and velvety, with balanced sweetness, softened tannins, and a long, warm finish with hints of dried fruit and spice.

Serving & Food Pairing: Best served at 14–16°C in small glasses. It pairs beautifully with dark chocolate desserts, almond biscuits, dried fruit pastries, blue cheeses, or can be enjoyed on its own as a meditative dessert wine.

Producer: Antonelli San Marco is a historic estate in Montefalco, known for producing traditional Umbrian wines that highlight native grapes like Sagrantino, emphasizing structure, authenticity, and regional identity.
