Sandeman 2024 Vintage Port
A Classical and Structured Vintage from One of Portugal’s Most Historic Port Houses

Sandeman has announced the release of its 2024 Vintage Port, a wine that beautifully reflects the house’s longstanding reputation for elegance, structure, and consistency. Produced from carefully selected vineyard parcels at Quinta do Seixo and Quinta do Vau, the 2024 vintage combines concentrated fruit, freshness, and refined tannins with the unmistakable character of classic Douro Vintage Port.

Deep ruby-purple in colour, the nose is intense and expressive, revealing aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry, cassis, and dark plum intertwined with notes of black pepper, wild herbs, olive paste, and subtle schist minerality. Hints of spice and floral lift add complexity and freshness, giving the wine both aromatic precision and depth.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and concentrated, with firm, high-quality tannins supporting layers of ripe red and black fruit. Vibrant acidity provides balance and definition, while notes of spice, dark berries, and mineral nuances build through the palate. The finish is long, focused, and persistent, displaying impressive concentration alongside freshness and harmony.

The 2024 growing season delivered excellent conditions for balanced ripening, with generous winter rainfall and cooler nights during harvest preserving aromatic purity and acidity. Traditional foot treading in granite lagares at Quinta do Seixo ensured optimal extraction of colour, tannin, and flavour while maintaining the elegance and balance characteristic of Sandeman Vintage Port.
