Description
The *Cinzano Rosso Vermouth* is a true Italian classic, first created in Turin in 1757 and still crafted today with the same dedication to balance and complexity. Made from a base of carefully selected wines, it is infused with a secret blend of aromatic herbs, roots, spices, and botanicals—most notably wormwood (*assenzio*). The result is a rich, bittersweet aperitif that has earned its place as both a standalone drink and an essential ingredient in some of the world’s most famous cocktails.
In the glass, Cinzano Rosso shows a deep ruby-amber hue, hinting at its warmth and richness. The nose is aromatic and inviting, offering notes of dried herbs, caramel, and vanilla, interwoven with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and a lift of citrus peel. Subtle floral undertones add elegance, while the herbal core provides depth and structure.
On the palate, it is smooth, rounded, and perfectly balanced between sweetness and gentle bitterness. Flavours of caramelised orange, spiced fruit, and vanilla give way to a delicate herbal bite from the wormwood and other botanicals. The finish is lingering and harmonious, with warm spice and bittersweet citrus echoing long after the last sip.
Cinzano Rosso is wonderfully versatile—delicious neat over ice with a slice of orange, refreshing when topped with soda or tonic, and indispensable in classics such as the Negroni, Americano, or Manhattan. More than just a mixer, it is a piece of Italian aperitivo heritage, offering a taste of Turin’s tradition and craftsmanship in every glass.
