Tasting Note
The wine is a truly outstanding example of the best that the Douro is capable of producing. Deep purple in colour and with a viscosity that signals a huge concentration, the aromas of blackberry, plum and bergamot leap out of the glass. On the palate there are layers of black fruit with fresh apricot highlights, and an amazingly long and persistent finish.

Tasting note
Warre’s 2017 has bright floral aromas of roses and violets, typical of the Touriga Nacional and also of rockrose, which is a feature of the Touriga Franca. On the palate the wine is full and plummy with amazing concentration and buoyant freshness delivering flavours of black cherries and blackberries. Layers of complexity are gradually revealed with a remarkable full-bodied structure.

A 2003 vintage Port Wine from Croft Port. A medium intensity Port with a garnet core and mahogany rim. A lovely pronounced nose of figs and prunes, with some walnut characters. Also slightly earthy. Good sweet fruit on the palate and a full mouth feel. This is followed by a long, smooth nutty finish. After a 40-year absence, the 2003 Croft was made by the use of traditional treading in stone Lagers. The 2003 reflects the benefits of two years of strict vineyard management with gloriously pure fruit and scents of wild blueberry and crême de more. The Touriga Nacional’s tiny yields brought great concentration to the wine, while the Touriga Franca, due to the good weather during the harvest, achieved perfect ripening, creating wines of great elegance. The Tinta Barroca was very ripe at the time of picking, with a higher than average baumé, producing wines of excellent structure and ageing potential. The 1999 Sandman Vau Vintage Port is deep red, opaque and inky with intense, fresh red fruit aromas. In the mouth it has rich plummy flavours with hints of strawberry supported by firm tannins giving a firm backbone and which will allow it to age superbly over several years. Production method
Fermentation in stainless steel vats and in presses under controlled temperature, arrested through the addition of grape alcohol. Matured for 2 years in large used oak vats, bottled in 2nd year after harvest and aged in bottle since. Both dates appear on label.
