Description

Quevedo is an incredible, innovative producer that is very highly regarded amongst port aficionados. Family owned for over 100 years, the Douro Valley estate is now in the capable hands of Oscar and Claudia Quevedo.

Porto Lágrima is a richer style of Port, the sweetest wine in the category of White Port. Its name Lágrima/ Tear came about thanks to the tears that flow into the glass when we shake it, due to its high sugar content. It is a more intense, honeyed and aromatic Port.

With a predominant golden color and liqueur texture, it has absolutely irresistible honey and floral aromas. It should be served cooler than other Ports, between 8 and 10ºC and is perfect to accompany desserts or to drink alone.

Hand-harvested, sustainably-grown grapes from owned and sourced vineyards.

Fermentation:
Grapes were destemmed and crushed. Fermented on the native yeasts, with temperature control in stainess steel.

Aging:
After the fortification with aguardente it was blended with other vintages making an average of 5 years in stainless steel tanks.

Tasting note: On the nose sweet honey notes intermingle with white fruit and pear or apple jam nuances. On the palate it is thick and rich, with the predominance of fruity character. Full bodied and sweet on the finish.

Touches of caramel aromas are taken through to the ripe texture. They give the Port richness with smoothness and a fine bite of spirit at the end. Roger Voss
