Amarone DOC 1970 Cantina Soc. Valpolicella is a red wine from Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy, produced by Cantina Soc. Valpolicella, a cooperative dedicated to crafting traditional Amarone wines that showcase the region’s unique appassimento (dried grape) method. The 1970 vintage reflects Amarone’s hallmark style: rich, full-bodied, and complex, with decades of evolution enhancing its depth and elegance.

Tasting Notes:
The wine displays a deep garnet color with brick-orange highlights along the rim, indicative of its mature age. The bouquet is rich and layered, offering aromas of dried cherries, plums, figs, and raisins, complemented by tertiary notes of leather, cocoa, tobacco, and subtle earthy undertones. Gentle aeration allows delicate balsamic and mineral nuances to emerge, highlighting the wine’s complexity and refinement.

On the palate, it is full-bodied yet balanced, with smooth, integrated tannins and moderate acidity that supports the richness of the dried fruit flavors.
