Description

The 1986 Barbaresco DOCG Oddero is a refined and historic wine that has matured beautifully over the years, revealing the elegance and complexity that define the great Nebbiolo wines of Piedmont. Carefully preserved over time, this exceptional vintage now offers a sophisticated and authentic tasting experience for collectors and lovers of mature Italian wines.

Barbaresco DOCG is one of Italy’s most prestigious red wines, produced exclusively from the Nebbiolo grape in the Piedmont region. Compared to Barolo, Barbaresco is often recognised for its elegance, finesse, and silky texture while still possessing remarkable ageing potential. With long bottle ageing, vintages such as the 1986 develop evolved aromas of dried roses, red berries, leather, tobacco, truffle, forest floor, and sweet spices, accompanied by a harmonious and velvety structure.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Barbaresco is best served at 18ºC. Older vintages should be decanted carefully to remove natural sediment and allow the wine to fully open and express its bouquet. After decanting, let the wine breathe gently before serving. Pair with braised meats, roasted lamb, game dishes, truffle pasta, porcini mushroom risotto, and mature hard cheeses.

Oddero is one of Piedmont’s most historic and respected wine producers, with a winemaking tradition that dates back to the nineteenth century. The family is renowned for producing elegant and long-lived wines that faithfully express the unique terroirs of the Langhe hills. Their Barbaresco and Barolo wines are internationally appreciated for their balance, complexity, and classic style rooted deeply in Piedmontese tradition.
