Description

This 1994 Barbera d’Asti has matured into a soft, approachable wine with a complex, earthy character. The bouquet reveals dried cherry, plum, and subtle redcurrant, with hints of leather, tobacco, and a touch of spice. On the palate it is medium-bodied, with mellowed tannins, bright but gentle acidity, and flavours of stewed red fruit, cocoa, and a savoury, slightly rustic undertone. The finish is smooth and lingering, showcasing the depth of age in Barbera.

Serve at 16–17 °C (60–63 °F) with minimal decanting, just enough to let aromas open. Pairs beautifully with roasted or braised meats, mushroom-based dishes, polenta with hearty sauces, or aged cheeses such as Castelmagno or Parmigiano Reggiano. It also complements traditional Piedmontese fare like agnolotti del plin.
