Barbera d’Asti DOC 1981 Calissano is a red wine from Asti, Piedmont, Italy, produced by Calissano, a winery with a long tradition of crafting expressive and age-worthy Barbera wines. The 1981 vintage exemplifies the classic character of Barbera d’Asti, with its lively acidity, vibrant fruit, and subtle complexity developed over decades of maturation.

Tasting Notes:
The wine shows a garnet-red color with orange-brick highlights at the rim, characteristic of a mature Barbera. The bouquet is elegant and layered, featuring aromas of dried cherries, plums, and raspberries, complemented by tertiary notes of leather, cedar, gentle spices, and soft earthy undertones. With gentle aeration, subtle balsamic and mineral nuances emerge, enhancing the wine’s depth and sophistication.
