Description
The 1975 Barolo Cantine Prandi have come from the producer's cellars where they have laid undisturbed since bottling.
Library Release — Pristine Provenance
From producer cellars to your table: this 1975 Cantine Prandi Barolo (Library Release) has been kept under optimal conditions before a late, limited re-release. That custody matters—you’re tasting mature Nebbiolo as it was meant to be experienced: authentic, composed, and beautifully preserved.
Vintage Character — Tar, Roses & Truffle
In the glass, a classic brick-garnet hue with an orange rim. The aromas unfurl in layers: dried cherry, rose petal and orange peel, then tar, leather, cedar and porcini/truffle. It’s the timeless Barolo profile—perfumed, savoury and deeply evocative.
Silky, Savoury, Long
Time has softened the once-firm structure into fine, suede-like tannins. The palate is elegant rather than heavy, with flavours of dried red berries, balsamic herbs, sweet spice and tea leaf. Lively acidity keeps it fresh; the finish is long, nutty and gently earthy. As with all old Barolo, expect natural bottle variation.
Serve with Care — Ritual Worth Savouring
Stand the bottle upright for 24–48 hours to settle sediment. Open gently (Ah-So/Durand recommended) and decant lightly for 20–30 minutes—just enough to remove sediment, not to over-aerate. Serve at 17–18 °C in large Burgundy stems. A fine deposit is normal.
A 50-Year Milestone Gift
A compelling bottle for 50th celebrations in 2025. The Library Release status adds confidence and story—perfect for collectors, Barolo lovers, or a memorable anniversary gift. Pair with tajarin and truffle, mushroom risotto, braised beef, game birds, or simply aged Parmigiano-Reggiano.
