Description

The Sobrero Barolo DOCG 2015 is a traditional Nebbiolo from the Langhe region in Piedmont, produced by the family-owned winery Sobrero. The 2015 vintage in Barolo is considered generous and approachable in its youth, showing ripe fruit and softer tannic integration compared to more austere years.

Tasting Notes:

The wine shows aromas of red cherry, raspberry, rose petals, violet, and subtle hints of spice, licorice, and dried herbs. With aeration, more tertiary notes emerge such as tobacco, leather, and earthy undertones.

On the palate it is medium-to-full bodied, with polished but still present tannins, fresh acidity, and a balanced structure. The style is relatively open-knit for Barolo, making it enjoyable even in its earlier drinking window, while still capable of further evolution over the next 8–15 years.

Serving & Food Pairing:

Best served at 18–20°C, with 1–2 hours of decanting if opened young. It pairs very well with:
