Description

Winemaker Notes

The 2016 Vietti Barolo Brunate is an intense ruby red. Dry, with generous body, harmoniously balanced and velvety texture. Classic, ripe red-fruit, long finish, rich and very elegant. Spices, violet, plums and intense tar, very typical for the Brunate vineyard.
Pair this wine alongside red meats, roasts, & wild game.

V 98 - Vinous
The 2016 Barolo Brunate is a powerful, vertical wine endowed with tremendous explosive energy and intensity. Crushed flowers, mint, spice and dried flowers open up in the glass, but it is the wine's energy that really elevates it into the stratosphere. In the glass, the 2016 is dark, somber and full of the sepia-toned nuances that are such signatures of this great Barolo vineyard. This is the first vintage that includes Vietti's newest parcel in Brunate. Perhaps more importantly, though, the 2016 is the first vintage in which French oak is minimal. This is a stunning vintage for the Brunate.

Vietti is an Italian winery located in the Piemonte region, specifically in the commune of Castiglione Falletto. It's widely regarded as one of the top producers of Barolo, a prestigious red wine made from the Nebbiolo grape variety. The Vietti winery was founded in the 19th century by Carlo Vietti. Over the years, it has gained a reputation for producing high-quality wines that showcase the unique terroir of the region. Vietti wines are known for their elegance, complexity, and aging potential.

In addition to Barolo, Vietti also produces other notable wines such as Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, and Arneis. The winery is known for its commitment to traditional winemaking methods combined with modern techniques to produce wines that reflect both tradition and innovation. Vietti wines have received numerous accolades and awards over the years, solidifying their position as one of the leading producers in the Piemonte region and beyond
