Description
A 2003 vintage Italian wine from Brunello Di Montalcino. Deep, brilliant garnet colour with a complex bouquet of cherry, prune, mint and sweet tobacco. Very full-bodied, silky with an impressively long and pleasantly fruity aftertaste.
Ugolforte is produced from the best estate grown grapes of the vineyards of Tenuta San Giorgio situated in Montalcino (Siena) close by Castelnuovo dell’Abate and the Cistercian abbey of Sant’Antimo. The grapes grow at an average altitude of 350m - 450m above sea level on southwest facing terrains. The soil is composed of clay loam sediments originating from a prehistoric salt lake basin and is rich in calcium.
Food Pairing suggestions:
Roast lamb, red-meat stews and braises, roast game, and aged cheeses. The adventuresome will want to try it drizzled over traditional Siena panforte.
