Description

The 2015 Quinta da Leda is a top-quality red wine of great complexity and elegance, a fine example of the richness and modernity of great Douro wines today. It is an honoured member of the range of Casa Ferreirinha, the company with the longest tradition of production of top-quality unfortified Douro wines and one of the most respected Douro names throughout the world.

Tasting Notes: Quinta da Leda is very deep red in colour. Its aroma is intense and extremely complex, dominated by ripe plum and blackcurrant, resin and cedar, as well as clove and nutmeg, then notes of violet, and a touch of chocolate (signs of a ripe year) always perfectly integrated with subtle oak of excellent quality. Quinta da Leda is famous for its body and elegance, its well-balanced acidity, excellent tannins and flavours of black fruits, with spicy and floral notes. It has a very long, harmonious finish.

94 Points - Mark Squires, Wine Advocate (238)
"The 2015 Quinta da Leda is a blend of 50% Touriga Franca, 20% Touriga Nacional and 15% each of Tinto Cão and Tinta Roriz, aged for 18 months in an equal mixture of new and used French oak. It comes in at 13.5% alcohol. Like so many wines in this vintage, this has bold flavors, freshness and a long finish. The structure is beautiful. It is remarkably elegant overall, but don't forget that power on the finish. This is stunning at times, although unevolved. It looks like a gorgeous Leda, a fine food wine and something that can develop as well. It may not have the "hit you over the head" muscle of the 2009, but it has more finesse. Let's be just a little cautious and let it prove its case in the cellar. There were 5,167 cases produced. Drink: 2020-2040. 94 points"
