The 2018 Château Marquis d’Alesme is a beautifully polished and expressive Margaux, combining richness from the warm vintage with the estate’s naturally elegant style. Deep ruby in colour, it shows impressive concentration while retaining refinement.

The nose is perfumed and layered, offering aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and ripe cherry, lifted by floral notes of violet and rose petal. These are supported by cedar, cocoa, gentle spice and subtle graphite, giving both charm and complexity.

On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and beautifully textured. Fine-grained tannins frame flavours of dark berry fruit, redcurrant, plum and soft mocha, with hints of tobacco and savoury minerality. Fresh acidity keeps the wine balanced and vibrant despite its richness.

The finish is long, smooth and elegant, leaving lingering impressions of ripe fruit, floral tones and gentle spice. This is a Margaux that delivers both immediate pleasure and serious ageing potential.

This wine pairs wonderfully with roast lamb, duck breast, beef fillet, venison and refined game dishes, as well as mushroom-based sauces and lightly spiced cuisine. It also complements aged hard cheeses beautifully.

These soils are ideal for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Recognized as a Third Growth (Troisième Cru) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, Château Marquis d'Alesme Becker produces wines that are celebrated for their elegance, complexity, and balance. The wines are known for their aromatic richness, showcasing notes of blackcurrant, violet, and spice, supported by fine tannins and a harmonious structure.
