    La Spinetta, 2018 Barbaresco “Bordini”

A beautifully expressive Barbaresco from the Bordini vineyard in Neive, the 2018 Bordini showcases Nebbiolo with aromatic lift, elegance and classical structure in the unmistakable La Spinetta style.

    Tasting Note
The nose is fragrant and refined, offering aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry, layered with rose petal, dried herbs and a gentle hint of spice. On the palate, the wine is supple yet focused, with bright acidity carrying flavours of crimson fruit, orange peel and subtle earthy minerality. Fine, polished tannins give shape and length, leading to a long, savoury and well-balanced finish.

    Food Pairing
A natural partner for braised veal, roast poultry, mushroom and truffle dishes, rich pasta sauces and aged hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or Castelmagno.

    Serving & Cellaring
Serve at 16–18°C. Decant for 45–60 minutes before drinking. Drinking well now with air, and will cellar confidently for 12–18 years.

    Why We Love It
Bordini offers a more approachable, elegant expression of Barbaresco, and La Spinetta captures this beautifully. Aromatic, food-friendly and refined, it’s a superb introduction to top-quality Nebbiolo from Piedmont.

    ***93/100 -The Wine Advocate***
"La Spinetta's 2018 Barbaresco Bordini is a very nuanced and streamlined expression. It opens softly to present aromas of red and purple currants. The elegance of the wine comes out, thanks to the subtle mineral tones of crushed limestone and dry earth that lift so delicately from the bouquet. The La Spinetta house style is normally richer and more concentrated, and this cool vintage comes as a nice surprise. "
