Description
2007 Châteauneuf-du-Pape “Cuvée Félix” – Domaine Bois de Boursan
A rich and expressive cuvée from Domaine Bois de Boursan, produced in one of the Southern Rhône’s most celebrated vintages and now showing impressive depth with the benefit of bottle age.
Tasting Note
An opulent and inviting nose of ripe blackberry, damson and cherry, layered with notes of sweet spice, liquorice, garrigue and a hint of leather. The palate is full-bodied and generous, with a velvety texture and well-integrated tannins. Concentrated dark fruit flavours are balanced by savoury herbal nuances and a touch of pepper, leading to a long, warm and satisfying finish.
Vintage & Vineyard
The 2007 vintage is widely regarded as exceptional in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, producing wines of remarkable ripeness, concentration and early approachability. Domaine Bois de Boursan’s “Cuvée Félix” is typically sourced from old-vine Grenache parcels, with fruit grown on classic Rhône soils including galets roulés and sandy plots, contributing both power and aromatic complexity. The warm, dry growing season resulted in beautifully ripe fruit, and the wine has evolved into a generous yet balanced expression of the appellation.
Serving
Serve at 16–17°C. Decant for around 1 hour to allow the wine to fully open and express its aromatic richness.
Summary
A benchmark vintage Châteauneuf-du-Pape, combining richness, warmth and maturity with refined structure. Drinking beautifully now, this is an excellent choice for a 2007 anniversary or special occasion.
