Vega Sicilia Pintia 2007 – Toro

The 2007 Pintia from Vega Sicilia is a powerful yet beautifully refined expression of Toro, showing the estate’s trademark balance between intensity and elegance. The colour remains a deep, dense ruby with only slight softening at the rim, reflecting both concentration and maturity.

The nose is rich, expressive and layered. Ripe black cherry, blackberry and plum are supported by notes of liquorice, dark chocolate and sweet spice, with hints of cedar, tobacco and subtle smoky oak. As it opens, touches of dried herbs, graphite and balsamic add further complexity.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, structured and confident, yet remarkably polished. Firm but ripe tannins frame flavours of dark berry fruit, cassis, plum compote and savoury spice, while fresh acidity keeps the wine balanced and energetic. There is a fine sense of density without heaviness, showing both Toro power and Vega Sicilia refinement.

The finish is long, deep and persistent, leaving lingering impressions of dark fruit, spice, cocoa and gentle oak. This is a wine that combines authority with sophistication.

This Pintia pairs superbly with grilled or roast beef, lamb, venison, rib-eye steak and rich slow-cooked dishes, as well as hard aged cheeses. It also works beautifully with smoky or charcoal-grilled foods.

A bold yet elegant Spanish red offering depth, structure and harmony. The 2007 Vega Sicilia Pintia is a superb example of Toro interpreted through a world-class lens, delivering power, balance and excellent maturity with further life still ahead.
