Chianti DOC 1980 Santa Cristina Antinori is a red wine from Chianti, Tuscany, Italy, produced by Santa Cristina, part of the historic Antinori estate, a family-run winery with centuries of winemaking tradition. This 1980 vintage exemplifies Chianti’s characteristic elegance and freshness, with the refinement and complexity that come from decades of careful aging.

Tasting Notes:
The wine presents a ruby-red color with garnet and subtle brick-orange tones along the rim, reflecting its maturity. The bouquet is expressive and layered, with aromas of red cherries, plums, and subtle hints of dried berries, complemented by tertiary notes of leather, cedar, tobacco, and soft earthy undertones. With gentle aeration, delicate spice and balsamic nuances emerge, adding depth and sophistication.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied with smooth, integrated tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is elegant and persistent, featuring dried red fruit, gentle spice, and earthy notes, reflecting both the careful evolution of the wine and the expressive character of Chianti’s Sangiovese grape.
