Description
1982 Chianti – Brandini Marcolino, Riserva (Tuscany, Italy)
A fully mature, classical Chianti Riserva favouring perfume and savoury finesse. Brick-garnet with a tawny rim, it opens on dried cherry and amarena, rose petal, cedar and sweet tobacco, with hints of orange peel, tea leaf and a gentle balsamic/underbrush note. Mid-weight and silken on the palate: lively, old-school acidity carries savoury red-cherry fruit, dried herbs and subtle leather; tannins are fine and resolved, the finish tapering with cherry skin, cedar spice and dried flowers.
Producer note: Bottled under the Brandini Marcolino name in a traditional Tuscan register; the Riserva designation implies longer élevage and bottle age, bringing added aromatic lift and tertiary complexity.
Serve: 16–18 °C. Stand upright 12–24 hours; very gentle decant for sediment just before pouring.
Food pairing: Roast chicken with herbs, pappardelle al ragù, porcini risotto, pecorino stagionato.
