Description

Chianti DOCG 1984 Vicario Bandini 75 cl 12% is a traditional red wine from Tuscany, Italy. Produced under the Chianti DOCG and bottled by Vicario Bandini, it is typically based on Sangiovese, sometimes blended with local complementary grapes, reflecting the classic Tuscan rustic style of the era.

Tasting notes: Now extremely mature and well beyond peak, it shows tertiary aromas of dried cherry, red currant, leather, tobacco, dried herbs, and earthy notes like forest floor and cedar, with possible oxidative or slightly vinegary hints depending on storage. On the palate it is light, faded, and fragile, with soft acidity, fully resolved tannins, and a short, dry, earthy finish.

Serving & food pairing: Best served at 14–16°C if still sound. Decant only for sediment. It can accompany simple rustic dishes such as roasted meats, pasta with meat sauce, mushrooms, and aged pecorino.

Producer: Vicario Bandini appears as a commercial bottler/producer linked to traditional Chianti production in the mid–late 20th century, when many wines were produced in a more rustic, regional, and less standardized style compared to modern Chianti DOCG bottlings.
