Description
Chianti DOCG 1983 Barone Ricasoli Brolio 75 cl 12.5% is a traditional red wine from Tuscany, Italy. Produced at Castello di Brolio by Barone Ricasoli, one of the historic estates of Chianti, it is typically based on Sangiovese with possible small traditional blending grapes, reflecting a classic estate-bottled Chianti style.
Tasting notes: Now fully mature and well beyond peak, it shows evolved tertiary aromas of dried cherry, sour plum, leather, tobacco, dried rose, and earthy notes like forest floor and cedar, with possible balsamic or oxidative nuances. On the palate it is light, refined, and fragile, with faded fruit, still-present acidity, fully resolved tannins, and a dry, earthy, medium-short finish.
Serving & food pairing: Best served at 14–16°C if still sound. Decant only for sediment. It can accompany simple rustic dishes such as roasted meats, game, pasta with ragù, mushrooms, and aged Pecorino.
Producer: Barone Ricasoli is one of the oldest wine estates in Italy, based at Castello di Brolio in Chianti Classico. This bottling reflects a traditional estate expression of Chianti from the early 1980s, before modern stylistic refinements and stricter DOCG standardization became widespread.
