Description
Churchill’s 1991 Vintage Port
A fine expression from a cooler, structured vintage, the 1991 Churchill’s Vintage Port displays the house’s hallmark style: elegance over opulence, with precision, freshness, and backbone.
Tasting Notes:
On the nose, it reveals lifted aromas of wild berries, black cherries, dried rose petals, and subtle herbal undertones, layered with hints of cedar, leather, and cocoa. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a refined balance of fruit and acidity. Flavours of dark plums, black tea, and liquorice emerge with impressive clarity, supported by firm tannins and a lingering, slightly dry finish—typical of Churchill’s stylistic restraint.
Drinkability:
Now in a beautiful window of maturity, offering complexity and poise. Can be enjoyed now with decanting, or cellared further over the next 5–8 years.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with aged cheddar, spiced nuts, or dark chocolate with sea salt. Also an excellent match for contemplative sipping on its own.
