The 1893 vintage in Cognac dates from the closing years of the 19th century — an era when traditional Charentais distillation, extended oak ageing and careful merchant selection defined the region’s finest spirits. Designated Fine Champagne, this Cognac is drawn from a blend of Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne eaux-de-vie, combining finesse with structure and exceptional ageing potential. As a Private Reserve, it represents a rare and individually preserved example from a remarkable period in Cognac’s history.

More than a century of maturation has shaped this spirit into something deeply evocative — a testament to patience in oak and the enduring resilience of well-made eaux-de-vie.

Tasting Notes:
Now a deep burnished mahogany with copper highlights, the bouquet is intensely layered and contemplative. Aromas of polished walnut, dried apricot and fig are woven with notes of antique oak, tobacco leaf and caramelised orange peel. With time in the glass, hints of leather, cocoa and subtle rancio emerge, lending further depth. On the palate it is remarkably poised, the texture silky and refined despite its great age. Flavours of toasted almond, dark toffee and dried fruits unfold gradually, leading to a long, warming and persistent finish of noble complexity.

Serving & Enjoyment:
