Description

Madeira is made on the volcanic island of the same name situated in the Atlantic ocean some 400 miles off the North African coast. The sub-tropical island was discovered in 1419 by the Portuguese.

This 2005 luscious sweet Malmsey Madeira from D'Oliveiras is topaz, mahogany in color, translucent, with sweet aromas with a very viscous and honey-sweet texture as well as some citrus notes and an aroma of fresh flowers. Pretty fresh for a Malvasia.

Food-pairing :
It is an excellent addition to pastries, fruit, chocolate, chocolates, hard cheeses, ice cream, caramel & coffee desserts. Malmsey is "meditation wine" with which you can finish a good dinner perfectly.
