1996 Graham’s Quinta dos Malvedos Vintage Port

A beautifully mature single-quinta Vintage Port from one of the Douro Valley’s most renowned estates, the 1996 Graham’s Quinta dos Malvedos combines richness, elegance and the refined house style for which Graham’s is celebrated. Quinta dos Malvedos has long been regarded as one of the finest vineyards in the Douro, consistently producing Ports of depth, structure and exceptional ageing potential.

Now approaching three decades of age, the wine displays an expressive bouquet of ripe black fruits, dried figs and plum layered with notes of cocoa, cedarwood, tobacco leaf and sweet spice. Further complexity develops in the glass with hints of dark chocolate, walnut and leather emerging over time.

The palate is smooth, generous and beautifully integrated, with softened tannins supporting flavours of cassis, raisin, mocha and black cherry. Despite its maturity, the wine retains freshness and balance, leading into a long, rich and warming finish.

The 1996 vintage produced approachable yet well-structured Ports, and this mature Malvedos now offers an excellent opportunity to experience a fully evolved single-quinta Vintage Port at an ideal stage of development.

Serve at 16–18°C and decant carefully to remove sediment. Excellent paired with blue cheese, dark chocolate desserts or enjoyed quietly on its own.
