Tasting notes
Deep ruby colour with a hint of purple at the rim.Rich and complex aromas of ripe dark fruits, including blackberry, plum, and black cherry. Chocolate, black pepper and clove and occasional hints of violets or herbs. On the palate it is full-bodied and rich, with velvety tannins. Ripe fruit flavours linger on the palate, accompanied by notes of dark chocolate, tobacco, and a hint of oak. The sweetness is balanced by good acidity, which adds structure and freshness. Long and lingering finish, with fruit and spice flavours evolving and remaining on the palate.
Serving and Food pairing
When mature this port will need to be decanted to remove the sediment and allow the air to express and develop its aromas and flavours. Serve at room temperature on its own or with steak and blue cheese sauce or vintage mature blue cheeses such as stilton Cashel Blue, Roquefort, Gorgonzola and Saint Augur Blue. Vintage port is also good with chocolate - a flattering accompaniment to top quality hand-made chocolates and artisan chocolate bars.

Reviews
"With a dark red colour, this Vintage Port has an intense personality, with ripe berries aromas, jam and hints of blackberries while young, turning to a complex bouquet and full of tertiary aromas with the ageing. It has always a powerful mouth feeling, with a remarkable structure, revealing a pleasantly and long aftertaste. Axel Probst World of Wine.
