The 1935 Niepoort Colheita Port is an extraordinary single-harvest Tawny Port, aged for many decades in seasoned oak casks. As one of the oldest Colheitas released by this historic house, it offers a rare opportunity to taste a piece of Port history. With nearly ninety years of development, this remarkable wine combines depth, elegance and maturity in perfect harmony. A treasure for serious collectors and an unforgettable experience for those fortunate enough to enjoy it. Drink now or over the next few years.
Tasting Notes:
Deep mahogany-brown with amber-green tinges at the rim, showing its great age. The bouquet is intensely evolved and complex, with aromas of dried figs, dates, old polished wood, roasted nuts, caramelised citrus peel, coffee and exotic spice. The palate is rich yet ethereal, with flavours of molasses, toffee, almond and hints of tobacco unfolding in silky layers. Bright acidity still carries the wine, giving it freshness despite its venerable age. The finish is exceptionally long, nutty and hauntingly elegant, leaving lingering impressions of dried fruits and fine oak.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to enjoy and do not require decanting. Serve slightly chilled (12–14°C) in a small Port glass to focus its aromas. This 1935 Colheita pairs beautifully with roasted nuts, dark chocolate desserts, treacle tart or simply savoured on its own as a meditation wine. Once opened, the bottle will remain in good condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool place. Unopened bottles should be stored lying down in a cool, dark cellar away from heat and vibration.
