The Quevedo 40 Year Old Tawny Port is an exceptional and rare expression, representing decades of careful ageing and blending in seasoned oak casks. It captures the depth, concentration and elegance that define the finest aged tawnies.

The nose is intensely complex and captivating, with aromas of dried fig, walnut and almond, layered with notes of caramel, honey and orange peel. Subtle hints of spice, tobacco and polished wood add remarkable depth, reflecting its long maturation.

On the palate, the wine is rich and seamless, with a silky, almost weightless texture that belies its concentration. Flavours of dried fruits, toffee, roasted nuts and citrus peel unfold in layers, balanced by a vibrant acidity that keeps the wine fresh and precise.

The NV 40 Year Old Tawny Port, bottled in 2015, is a field blend with 135 grams per liter of residual sugar. Very fresh, very elegant and relatively young for a 40, this is only moderate in complexity for its age, a little light on those molasses overtones, if you will. However, the youth and nutty nuances are rather glorious in their own right. Alive and delicious, it has an enticingly sweet edge. There are approximately 1,000 bottles produced per year.
