Description

The 10 Year Old Tawny Reserve of Quinta das Carvalhas is one of the beautiful ports produced in this emblematic Quinta. It is presented in a decanter that makes a wonderful lasting gift as the decanter can be reused.

Tasting Notes
It reveals auburn topaz reflections with a harmonious and elegant bouquet characteristic of aging in oak casks, with notes of spices, honey caramel and butterscotch. The wine is full-bodied and has a long lingering finish.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Tawny Ports are ready-to drink and do not require decanting. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 12-13ºC they will work wonders if pairing with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, such as hazelnut praline.

For a 10-year-old Port, this is impressively mature, showing plenty of wood-aging flavors that have fully embraced the more youthful fruitiness. Sweet and with hints of caramel, this is a fine, ripe Port to be drunk now. — Roger Voss
