Description

1976 Rivesaltes – Domaine Riveyac

Produced in the warm, sun-drenched vineyards of Roussillon in southern France, this 1976 Rivesaltes from Domaine Riveyac is a traditional Vin Doux Naturel, fortified to preserve natural sweetness and then matured slowly over decades. Extended ageing has allowed the wine to develop the complex oxidative character that defines classic mature Rivesaltes.

Tasting Notes:
Deep amber in colour with copper and mahogany highlights, the nose is rich and expressive, revealing aromas of dried apricot, orange peel and fig layered with notes of toasted walnut, caramel and gentle spice. On the palate it is smooth and rounded, showing flavours of candied citrus, date and honeyed nuts balanced by a fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively. The finish is long, warming and elegant, with lingering notes of toffee, spice and dried fruit.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Best served lightly chilled to enhance freshness and aromatic clarity. A natural partner to crème brûlée, almond tart, blue cheeses or pâté, though equally rewarding enjoyed slowly on its own.
