Overview:
A magnificent expression of one of Italy’s most iconic Super Tuscans, the 1998 Solaia captures the elegance, richness and refinement that define the Antinori family’s celebrated Tenuta Tignanello estate. Produced from a masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc, the 1998 vintage is now entering a beautifully mature phase, where powerful fruit and polished structure have evolved into remarkable complexity and harmony.

Appearance:
Deep garnet in colour with subtle brick-red evolution at the rim, reflecting both concentration and graceful bottle maturity.

Nose:
Intensely layered and expressive, opening with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, plum and blackberry compote intertwined with cedarwood, tobacco leaf and sweet spice. With aeration, additional notes of leather, dried herbs, dark chocolate and earthy truffle emerge, adding notable depth and sophistication.

Palate:
Powerful yet beautifully balanced, with velvety tannins and seamless integration between fruit, acidity and oak. Flavours of black cherry, cassis and dried fig are supported by savoury nuances of balsamic, espresso and graphite, while the wine’s mature tertiary complexity adds refinement without diminishing its structure and intensity.

Finish:
Exceptionally long and persistent, lingering through dark fruits, spice, tobacco and fine oak nuances.

Decanting:
Decant for 1–2 hours before serving at 17–18°C to allow the wine’s layered bouquet and mature complexity to fully develop.
