Overview:
A magnificent expression of Bolgheri from one of Tuscany’s most iconic estates, the 1998 Ornellaia reflects the richness, balance and refinement that established Tenuta dell’Ornellaia among the world’s leading producers of Super Tuscan wines. Now entering full maturity, the wine combines powerful dark fruit with polished structure and evolving tertiary complexity, showcasing the harmony and depth for which the estate is internationally celebrated.

Appearance:
Deep ruby-garnet in colour with subtle brick evolution at the rim, showing concentration and graceful bottle maturity.

Nose:
Intensely aromatic and beautifully layered, revealing ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and plum intertwined with notes of cedarwood, tobacco leaf and sweet spice. With aeration, further nuances of dark chocolate, leather, dried herbs and earthy balsamic tones emerge, adding notable complexity and sophistication.

Palate:
Broad, round and sumptuous, with velvety tannins and a seamless, polished texture free of harsh edges. Flavours of cassis, black cherry and stewed dark fruits are supported by notes of espresso, graphite, spice and fine oak, while the wine’s generous structure remains harmonious and refined throughout.

Finish:
Long, persistent and elegant, lingering through dark fruits, spice, tobacco and savoury Tuscan nuance.

Decanting:
Decant for 1–2 hours before serving at 17–18°C to allow the wine’s bouquet and mature complexity to fully emerge.
