Description

The 2016 Sandeman Vintage Port Wine returns to its glory. With an opaque with an almost black colour the wine has an intense, complex aroma. Ripe black fruit, cocoa and chocolate flavours continue on to the palate where floral notes of rockrose are apparent in a long, lingering finish. Firm tannins, full-bodied and with fresh acidity it has structure that will allow the wine to age comfortably for decades.

Plum, violet and chocolate with a hint of musky grape aromas too. Pashmina smoothness. Utter pleasure to taste – the fruit is just so pristine, yet there is spice and earthiness and even a bit of savoury umami flavour too – mushroom and soy, perhaps. Superb.
