Description

Don PX 2021 from Bodegas Toro Albalá is a luscious young Pedro Ximénez that perfectly captures the sun-drenched soul of Andalusia. Crafted from 100% PX grapes grown in Montilla-Moriles, the wine is made using the traditional method of sun-drying the grapes after harvest to concentrate their sugars and flavours. The result is an unctuous, deeply sweet wine that offers an authentic snapshot of the region's viticultural heritage, bottled at an approachable and vibrant stage of its life.

On the nose, Don PX 2021 is intense and seductive, with an explosion of raisins, figs, dates, and candied citrus peel. Hints of honey, cocoa, and dried flowers emerge with air, giving the wine a layered and perfumed complexity. Despite its richness, the wine retains a surprising sense of freshness and clarity, thanks to the quality of the fruit and the absence of extended oxidative ageing at this youthful stage.

The palate delivers a decadent rush of sweetness, yet it is lifted by a gentle acidity that prevents the wine from becoming cloying.
