"Very ripe aromas of pear, apple, cinnamon, mace, toast and honeysuckle. Large-scaled, rich and mouthfilling, with a flavor of toffee apple. This is thick with extract but can't quite equal the best Grande Dame vintages for concentration and thrust. But still impeccably made, very rich Champagne. (11/ 2001)

Young, with a taut citrus, ginger, mineral, soice and floral bouquet, this bright and light-on-its-feet wine has lots of dimension. Yellow fruit flavors, anise accents and fine fruit-to-acid balance mark the cream, yet airy palate. The mineral-chalk and the citrus-peel finish is long, with brisk acidity. High-strung, like fine white Burgundy; though delicious now, it will benefit from aginf for three to six plus years. (12/ 2001)
