Chateau Suduiraut, 1928

Sauternes Premier Cru Classe
97 Points- Jeff Leve

An extremely rare and historic dessert wine from a top vintage in Bordeaux hailing from the Sauternes appellation. A Premier Cru Classé (First Growth) estate, ranked in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Sometimes referred to as 'Ancien Cru du Roy' as displayed on older labels. Sauternes wines from top vintages are renowned for their extraordinary longevity.

Tasting Notes:
Aged examples of such fine wine may showcase deep caramel, honey, dried apricots, candied citrus peel, saffron, and subtle nutty and spice notes of almond and vanilla. With nearly a century of ageing, expect a luscious texture with layers of caramelised fruits, honeycomb, and preserved citrus, balanced by vibrant acidity that keeps the wine fresh.

During his apprenticeship he had been in constant contact with an old school friend, John Patient, residing at that time in Charles Town, South Carolina who suggested that they themselves should commence trading. Leacock agreed and this marks the birth of the now world famous company.

Rioja, 1928

El Pingarron - Maristany, Rioja

The 1928 El Pingarrón Reserva by Amadeo Maristany Oliver is a rare and historically significant Spanish wine, notable for its age and the legacy of its producer. Amadeo Maristany Oliver was a respected figure in early 20th-century Spanish winemaking, and this bottling reflects the traditional methods of that era.

Given its age, the wine is considered a collector's item, and its condition can vary significantly depending on storage history. Potential buyers should be aware that older wines may exhibit signs of aging, and consumption is generally not recommended without proper assessment.
