Vintage Port: A good Vintage that is now very hard to find. Not a declared year. This Vintage has been fully mature for many years but well cellared, the best 1954 port wines will be fine for years to come.
Italian: A moderate year for Piedmont.

Butler Nephew Vintage Port, 1954
This historic house was founded in 1829 and had an excellent reputation for producing fine vintage ports until it was acquired and integrated into the Sandeman port house. The 1955 Butler Nephew has a mature tawny colour. The nose is still complex and enjoyable with herbal notes and molasses. The port is medium body on the palate with a medium plus finish - a very attractive and enjoyable old port.

Château d'Yquem 1954 is a classic. very elegant with aromas of sherry, brown sugar and caramel and a taste of hazelnuts. Voluminous and deep.
